INTRODUCTION - HOW TO USE THE BITESIZE CATECHISM

Welcome to Deacon Dave's Bitesize Catechism!  The official Catechism of the Catholic Church is a large volume, serving up such a huge smorgasbord of theology that it can easily overwhelm many who take it up to find spiritual nourishment.  It helps to break down its rich and hearty ingredients into small bitesize pieces and hopefully this blog will help accomplish that. My plan is to dish out a serving of Catholicism once a week to help satisfy your spiritual hunger.  We will be sampling the theology, morality and liturgy of Catholicism in an easy to chew, easy to digest manner.

This Bitesize Catechism's layout will follow a simple format: The Appetizer will be a brief  excerpt from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) introducing the theme of our study and hopefully whetting your appetite to learn more. The Main Course will be the meat and potatoes of our study, the basics of our Faith to provide spiritual nourishiment. The Doggie Bag will be a thought or a practice  or appropriate Scripture verse that you can take away from our study for spiritual snacking during your day.
